Seasonaire Training
Welcome to BASS Chamonix’s dedicated page for Seasonaires. Working in the Chamonix Valley is a great experience and a fantastic opportunity to get out there and enjoy sliding on the white stuff. Over the past five years Team BASS Chamonix have helped seasonaires get the most out of their skiing experience by running ongoing informal training sessions aimed at improving your technique and tactics for the whole mountain.
This programme is run by BASS Chamonix Team members Alison Culshaw & Dee O’Neill. Alison has been working with us for four seasons and has also developed our “Mountaineers Performance Courses”. She also works as a trainer for BASI delivering the “Off Piste Mountain Safety Modules”. Dee has been with us for two seasons and developed her own following of seasonaires last year. She also works as a trainer for IASI delivering the Level 1 Alpine Ski Instructor course.

These sessions run on Wednesday mornings throughout the season (except for peak weeks) with a maximum of 8 people per group. Sessions are 3 hours duration (9am unil 12noon) and cost just 45€ (same price as last year). Anyone wishing to pay in Sterling can do so at the current exchange rate.
And NEW this season in conjunction with PLAY2LEARN we are also offering French language training for seasonaires.

Come and improve your French language skills on the snow! These weekly 2 hour sessions (1pm until 3pm) are designed to help you improve your communication skills, and widen your all round vocabulary. We’ll start off at the beginning of the season with the absolute basics, working your way through the season you’ll learn from a wide range of topics, focusing on making living and working in France alot easier! The lessons are run by qualified French teacher, Ben Bradford and the emphasis is on making language learning active and fun, out of the classroom and on to snow as much as possible! These 2 hour sessions can be combined with the seasonaire’s technical skiing program to make it a full day.

And finally the seasonaire training programme can now be used as a feeder into becoming a ski instructor. BASS Chamonix Limited is now a licensed course provider (LCP) for the Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors (IASI) and through it’s Instructor Training arm Parallel Dreams, will be running a Level 1 Alpine Ski Instructor Course in April 2010.
